Hi everyone,
As we celebrate Thanksgiving, I want to invite you to pause and reflect on a simple but important question:
What are you thankful for?
It’s a question we don’t ask ourselves nearly enough. Life moves quickly. We rush from one responsibility to the next, and gratitude often becomes something we remember only once a year.
But Scripture reminds us that gratitude is meant to be daily.
St. Paul writes: “In all circumstances give thanks, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.”
Not just when things go well — but in all circumstances, because God is present in every moment of our lives.
Gratitude is more than a feeling.
Gratitude is a choice.
A decision to recognize God’s blessings, even in difficult seasons.
A decision to see the people who support us, the grace that strengthens us, and the quiet ways God cares for us each day.
So as you gather for Thanksgiving, I encourage you to take a moment before your meal to truly reflect:
- What blessings has God given you this year?
- Who has supported, loved, or encouraged you?
- Where have you seen God’s mercy?
- And… have you thanked Him?
Consider going around the table and sharing one thing you are genuinely grateful for. Let your gratitude become prayer. Let it open your eyes to how generous God has been.
My prayer for you today is simple:
May this Thanksgiving be the beginning of deeper daily gratitude to the God who gives us everything.
Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed and joy-filled Thanksgiving,
Fr. Andy
