Dear friends in Christ,
On this final Sunday of Advent, our attention turns to Mary. The Gospel brings us to the moment of the Annunciation, when Mary’s “yes” opened the way for Christ to enter the world. Her openness, her trust, and her courage show us what true Christian love looks like.
Love, for Mary, was not a feeling—it was a response. A willing surrender to God’s plan. A readiness to place her life in His hands. A trust that even in uncertainty, God would provide.
As we prepare our hearts for Christmas, Mary invites us to consider: Where is God asking me to say “yes”? Maybe in a small act of charity. Maybe in reaching out to someone who is lonely. Maybe in forgiving a past hurt. Maybe simply in giving Christ a place in your daily prayer.
Advent love is active. It moves. It responds. It gives.
This week, as we stand on the doorstep of Christmas, take a moment to entrust your life—your joys, your struggles, your hopes—to the Lord. Ask Mary to walk with you, to teach you how to receive Christ with a heart full of faith and love.
May the love of Christ fill your home and prepare your heart to welcome Him with renewed joy this Christmas.
Pax et Bonum,
Fr. Andy
